All that for two nights away

The husband and I are both out of town this weekend, him to training camp with his team, me to Tahoe with my posse.  Packing this morning, we were marveling at how much car-filling shit is required to go away for just two days.  Might as well be gone longer for all the bags required.  Behold.

His:

contents: 1 bike, 1 extra set of wheels, took box, two bags of clothing, sleeping bag.  Note: food provided at training camp.

Hers:

contents: packed suitcase (containing essentials i can't live without such as bathrobe, slippers, pillow, laptop), snowshoes, snowboots, hiking boots and sneakers, bag of food to share, including coffee paraphernalia.  And purse, stuffed with notebook and current book and pills and eyeglass cleaner.  I am a little unhappy about the sheer quantity of footwear, but the weather in Tahoe has been so weird this year that I probably should have skipped all the snowgear and brought sandals.

Ridiculous, right?  All this for two nights.

On an amazing note, we managed to put 9 women and all of their luggage, skis, assorted and sundry crap, bags and bags of booze, into just two vehicles.

So much stuff!
